The Difference Campaign

Our Dogs are Ready to Work. But our Future is in Jeopardy.

We’ve had to pause construction on our new Dog Guide training school because of a $20 million shortfall. Without urgent action, construction could be halted permanently, and our capacity to operate our training program could be lost.

We are calling on the public to raise $5 Million toward the shortfall, and we need help urgently to get building again, secure the future of our programs, and meet the growing demand from Canadians waiting for a life-changing Dog Guide. Every contribution, large or small, will bring us closer to opening the doors of this world-class facility, safeguarding our programs, and giving Canadians living with disabilities greater independence, safety, and support.

When I heard about the urgent call from dog guides, I knew we had to do something. The thought of others not having the benefits of having a service dog broke my heart.

Just about one year ago, I flew home from Oakville with my son's Autism Dog Guide Valee. Over the last year Valee has changed our whole family's lives. Z and Valee bonded at first sight. Since then Valee has been Z's best friend and an amazing support. 

My name is Monique, and I am the owner of Rooted in Sass, along with my husband Tim. We talked to our best friend Chrissy, who owns Cupcake Catacomb and came up with a plan.

Rooted in Sass reached out to our supplier Convoy Westcan, and together we started 3d printing tiny articulated dogs! While we were working on product, Cupcake Catacomb took over all the graphic design and marketing.

This weekend at both Petersfield Market and Skinner's Lockport Market, we raised $585 dollars! We were so happy to have come out of the gate strong towards our $5000 goal!
