Our Dogs are Ready to Work. But our Future is in Jeopardy.

Lions Dog Guides has been providing Canadians with guide dogs since 1983. At that time I never imagined being one of those applying for a Dog Guide. But in 2019 I was working on my application and then came Covid. After a 5-year year wait, Hearing Dog applications opened up in June and all programs opened back up shortly after. Now many Canadians, along with me, are at risk of never receiving a guide dog. These are not just your average dogs! They are highly trained and provided to Canadians at no cost. For me it means being able to go to sleep at night and know that if there is an emergency, I will be woken up - see hearing aids are very uncomfortable for sleeping and when I take mine out I am deaf. If I leave them in, without waking up, I will at some point take them out. 

$20 million is needed urgently. I know that is a lot - but it is amazing how quickly donations can add up. I have set a personal goal of raising $1000. If you can, please help - every donation, regardless of the amount is important.
